Hey folks, how’s it hanging? Where have I been? Well, nowhere really, but life has been “life-ing” as it always does. These last 10-12 months have been an interesting number of twists and turns that have led to today and I’m excited about the possibilities of the future. What the hell am I talking about? LOL! No worries. I’ll give you a bit of a break down.

I cut off my locs. If you follow my Instagram, you may remember a post from October of 2023 where I mentioned my loc journey soon coming to an end. It did in December of that year. I didn’t cut off all of my hair. I cut it down to about 6 inches and combed out my locs. (Exhausting!!) From there I shaped it into a style. I wore my hair tapered on the sides and back, with about 3-4 inches at the top. But that only lasted a couple of months before I cut my hair again. Now my hair is about 1 ½ – 2 inches at the top and cut low on the sides and back. I only wear wash and go’s and due to shrinkage, it looks like its less than an inch. I LOVE my hair. (I loved it even more this past summer when the temperatures averaged over 110 degrees.) At the moment, I have no plans to let it grow, but never say never. A few years from now my thoughts may change.

We moved in April, but are still settling in. (sigh) I know it’s been 7 months already. The move was draining. And even though we moved into a larger place, at times it feels as if we have less room. Well, at least storage. There are still a few boxes that need to be unpacked and paintings to be hug, but overall, I’d say we are about 90% done. I like our new place. I guess I feel comfortable and am taking my time. But all in all, things are going well.

I restarted my health and fitness routine. In mid Aug I began to walk for 7 days to jump start my workout routine. That 7-day jumpstart turned into a 30-day challenge. Rain, sleet, or shine. Well or sick. On the treadmill or outside. I walked for 30 minutes every day. I successfully completed my challenge and am now working my way up to a 20-minute 2-mile run. I’ll get there eventually, but I’m in no rush. Right now, I still go to the gym Monday through Saturday and rest on Sunday. In addition to the treadmill, I complete 30- or 1-month fitness routines I find on Pinterest. I tend to get bored with workout after a few months, so for now this is perfect.

I quit my job. I worked in customer service for a very long time. I’m the type of person who likes to help people resolve issues and find solutions. But work was something that I no longer enjoyed. So, I decided to leave. Was it planned? Yes and no. I was in the process of establishing a part time business that I hoped to eventually make fulltime, but maybe in a year or 2. Do I regret it? Hell naw!!! It had gotten to the point that I dreaded going to work. I was frustrated because I was putting all of my time and energy into a company that would happily replace me at a moment’s notice. So, I decided to put all of that time and energy into me and my dreams.
I’m starting 4 business ventures. Well, like I said, I now have the time and energy to invest in me and my dreams. I’m still in the process of getting things established, so I’ll have more details later. But one of the things I will be focusing on is growing this blog as well as my social media accounts. So, you’re going to see a lot more of me. You’re probably going to get sick of me, but that okay. I don’t mind.Hey folks, how’s it hanging? Where have I been?
